CARE International Balkans, is an equal opportunity employer and is seeking a qualified candidate for its Office in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, to fill the position of Grants and TA Coordinator for its project “Enhancing social protection by empowering CSOs in Bosnia and Herzegovina” funded by the Czech Development Agency.
Project Summary – Project “Enhancing social protection by empowering CSOs in Bosnia and Herzegovina” will be implemented in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) contributing to strengthening the weak social welfare and social protection as well as access to rights and social inclusion for the marginalized and most vulnerable. Poor economic performance and high unemployment largely effects the socio-economic position of citizens, especially most vulnerable and marginalized.
The project will be implemented by CARE Czech Republic and CARE’s representative office in Bosnia and Herzegovina (CARE International Balkan) throughout developing capacities of CSOs and advocating in cooperation with CSOs for various causes in BiH.
The project seeks to protect the most vulnerable population groups, but also to provide benefits for all BiH citizens. Hence the goal of the project is to professionalize and enhance mandate and role of civil society actors (CSOs) in Bosnia and Herzegovina by building their capacities to provide services for marginalized and vulnerable population and by enabling them to actively participate in design and implementation of relevant policies. By implementing the proposed activities, it is expected that capacities and better organisational management of 7 targeted CSOs in BiH will be strengthened (Expected Result 1); their capacity to provide relevant services for their target groups (TGs) and at national level will be improved (Expected Result 2) and they will have stronger advocacy position and improved policies in specific areas of their mandate.
Grants and TA Coordinator, based in Sarajevo, provides support to the Project Manager in deployment of experts for capacity building of target organisations, coordinates the sub-grant project component, ensures compliance with the agreed criteria, donor and CARE sub-granting regulations. S/he assists with organisation of trainings, events and study visit, provides support to engaged experts, communicates with project target organisations and collects reports and other relevant information from the field. The Project Coordinator will be responsible to ensure compliance with the Donor and CARE International rules and procedures and to maintain project documentation filing system.
S/he is expected to travel extensively in the AoR.
University degree/diploma in social sciences or related fields and/or equivalent experience in social development projects and granting. Minimum 5 years of (I)NGO project coordination level experience, preferably dealing with social development, sub-granting and coordinated work with multiple stakeholders. Good knowledge of the (I)NGO project implementation principles. Proven presentation and organizational skills. Excellent command of oral and written local and English language and excellent reporting skills, both in English and BIH languages. Excellent computer skills. Clean and up to date driver’s license, category B with extensive driving experience. Personality and skills to work proactively and under tight deadlines and as part of a team. Salary and benefits package commensurate with experience.
