Gender Budget Watchdog Network II

Centar za promociju civilnog društva (CPCD) is implementing a four-year project (2022 – 2026) titled Strengthening Transparency and Accountability for Gender Equality in Western Balkans and Moldova or Gender Budget Watchdog Network Phase II. The project is financially supported by the Austrian Development Agency and Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency in the amount of 1.800.000,00 EUR. Implementing partners in this project are Centre for Research and Policy Making (N. Macedonia), Gender Alliance for Development Centre (Albania), Kosovo Women’s Network (Kosovo), Women Action (Montenegro), Gender Knowledge Hub (Serbia), and Keystone (Moldova).

What will Gender Budget Watchdog Network work on?

• implementation of government commitments to GRB and institutionalization of GRB throughout the budget process
• gender-transformative approach to climate change in the Western Balkans and Moldova
• enhancing the engagement of civil society on gender and climate change
• building knowledge, methodologies and skills in GRB, particularly related to climate change and resilience response financing

What is the objective of the project?

The objective of Gender Budget Watchdog Network II is to improve public commitments for gender responsive climate action and increase available financing to implement gender-responsive climate action in the Western Balkans region and Republic of Moldova.

What are the target groups and beneficiaries?

The target groups and beneficiaries include:

• CSOs, including, but not limited to, women´s rights organizations, men’s organizations, environmental organizations, and non-profit organizations working on implementing UN Convention 1325,
• Relevant decision makers in charge of budgets, public finances and climate/environmental polices,
• Government officials and local government institutions, gender mechanisms, and relevant ministries of environment, actors engaged in implementing the gender equality commitments and the NDCs under the Paris Agreement, and citizens of Western Balkans and Republic of Moldova.
