“Think Nature!” May: Visits to Schools

We visited Arijana Mangafić Aćimović, a member of the group “I plant, and you?”, who often delights us with pictures of her mini garden, during May.

We also used May to visit schools. At the beginning of the month, we held meetings with ten public primary and secondary schools from the territory of Herzegovina that participate in the implementation of the Certification Mechanism for obtaining the Eco-School Certificate. The meetings discussed the current situation in schools when it comes to the environment and the implementation of the Certification Mechanism for Eco-Schools. Schools have mostly started implementing the Certification Mechanism. Some of them have already created extremely interesting eco corners, some have started eco patrols following the new conditions caused by the pandemic, and at least 70% of teachers have already introduced the topic of environmental protection in their subjects. The biggest obstacle for schools at the moment is the new working conditions caused by the pandemic, which differ in certain parts of the country but have changed the standard way of working everywhere and made it impossible to implement some of the planned activities. However, schools are trying to adapt and are not giving up on their path to Eco-School status.

This month, Sanel Kajan gave a lecture to journalism students on TV journalism and environmental protection.

This month’s Podcast SeharaCast was filmed in a relaxed atmosphere with guest Vladimir Grabovac, who reveals how to be the director and co-founder of the company “Biona Zdrava Hrana”, which cares about protecting our nature and the environment.

Among the activities of the partners, we will single out the first action of women of the Association “Iskra Krivaja” within the Eco HUB Maglaj, as well as a round table organized by “Ekosol” Tuzla were solutions offered by students of six high schools from Tuzla in combating air pollution Tuzla.
